Our Story
The vision for fijianhost.com began when Orisi Samoce recognized that his own village had everything to offer travelers—genuine hospitality, rich traditions, and breathtaking natural beauty, but lacked the means to connect with the outside world. He realized the real challenge wasn’t the absence of what travelers were looking for, but the lack of a platform to make these stays accessible. More than just places to sleep, these homes serve as gateways into deeper cultural connection—something many travelers seek but rarely find. Orisi knew that if he could solve this for his village, he could unlock the same opportunity for communities across Fiji.
This insight sparked a vision: a platform that would empower communities to host travelers directly and meaningfully. With the support of his brother Josaia Buarua, his wife Vatisiva Samoce, and their children; Losana, Josaia, Abigail, and Junior — Orisi set out to bring the vision for fijianhost.com to life.
Their good friends Alifereti Yauvoli and Josua Mateiwai then joined the founding team, bringing their legal and financial insights to the business.
